25 May, the Legislate Peace Campaign to receive the public's attention
250,000 unite to voice their positive demands for peace by adding the signatures
On 25 May 2013, before the Peace Gate of the Olympic Park in Seoul, South Korea, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light (HWPL) hosted the Walk for World Peace and Restoration. This event marked the official proclamation of the Declaration of World Peace, announcing an era of change and most importantly, of peace.
And again, The World Peace Gate in Seoul's Olympic Park was filled with vibrant young people from all across Korea and from overseas for 3rd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and Peace Walk on 25 May 2016.
This year's commemorative event was hosted more than 250,000 people from across the globe. The event highlighted the global peace advocacy movement, the Legislate Peace Campaign, recently launched to bring all wars to an end by establishing an enforceable law compatible with the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW). (Regarding to DPCW : http://peacelaw.org)
The declaration presented an outlined method to achieve what centuries of wars and peace efforts had failed to establish. The words of the declaration inspires every person to envision how peace might be achieved, sparking a responsibility in the hearts of the youth - a spark which quickly grew into a blaze of hope, bringing light and warmth to communities and opening the door to a new outlook.
We cannot claim to desire peace and continue to provoke one another, causing conflict for the sake of valuing our own national interests above those of others.
This will only take the lives of the youth, wasting them in the futility of war.
This is not a legacy we can leave to future generations.
Of what use is a young life, born in our day and age, if it is thrown away in this manner - thrown away without having had a chance to bloom?
What price can compensate for the loss of a life? Do these young souls have another chance at life? .."
